Attachment-Based Therapy

Sometimes individuals struggle to foster a deep connection and meaningful bonds with others which can lead to experiencing anxiety, depression, fear, and anger. This struggle to connect is often due to early attachment experiences. Attachment-Based Therapy aims to address the negative experiences of early childhood attachment, thus strengthening the ability to form secure relationships.

Attachment-Based Therapy is an evidence-based, effective psychotherapy approach for treating depression and anxiety and building trusting supportive relationships. Attachment-Based Therapy can be used with individuals or couples to help address the lingering subconscious issues from childhood and help recover from or mend fractured family relationships. Attachment-Based Therapy looks at an individual's attachment style and how it shows up in everyday life and our relationships in later life. Understanding and emotional awareness of an individual's attachment style helps them gain a sense of security, thus improving relationships. Attachment-Based therapies such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) are often the bases of couples counseling due to their effectiveness in building stronger and healthier intimate relationships.
